Volunteer Policy

UPDATED FOR THE 2024-2025 SEASON

The success of the Edmonton Alpine Ski Racing Society (EASRS), otherwise known as ESC Alpine, is dependent on the participation and contributions of member volunteers. Volunteers run the Board of Directors, coordinate programs and events, organize training camps, and assist at races.

Members who are not able to fulfill their volunteer commitment can request a friend or family member to participate on their behalf. Members are not permitted to pay others to fulfill volunteer roles.

  • I understand that my child's ability to race and train is entirely dependent upon parents/guardians volunteering. Without volunteers, there is no program.

  • I will do my part to support the club through volunteerism, understanding that there is more to volunteering than the required Casino and ESC Alpine Race shifts.

  • I will fulfill my volunteer requirements, at a minimum.

  • I will treat all volunteers from all clubs with respect.

  • I will volunteer at other races when needed.

Each volunteer role has points assigned. Members with one child enrolled in the ESC Alpine ski race training program must accumulate a minimum of five (5) volunteer points during the ski season in order to fulfill their volunteer obligation. Members with two or more children enrolled in the ESC Alpine ski race training program must accumulate a minimum of seven (7) volunteer points to fulfill the volunteer obligation.

Each point that remains unfulfilled at the end of the season will incur a fee of $200.00, up to a maximum of $1,000.00 per family.

A non-refundable $1.00 volunteer fee will be payable at time of registration. Volunteer activity will be tracked throughout the season.
