ESC Alpine Regional Program: U14 and U16+ Racers
The ESC Alpine Regional Program is tailored for U14 and U16+ athletes who are passionate about ski racing and eager to elevate their skills. Our program is designed to develop advanced technical abilities, strategic race tactics, and the physical conditioning necessary for competitive success.
The focus of U14 remains on the FUNdamentals of training, development, and introduction to competition. At this level, athletes progress from the skiers’ essentials stage of AIM through the learning to train stage and eventually into the learning to race stage. Learning experiences are enhanced with extensive use of free skiing and specifically designed training environments. The more formalized racing and team travel also enhance the learning of critical life skills such as time management, working as a member of a team, proper nutrition, and being responsible for yourself.
U16s and U16+ are well-versed in competition. They are athletes in the learning-to-race stage of AIM. Learning experiences are enhanced at this level through free skiing, gate environments, video review, and timing.
